David W. Hoffmann, CFP®, AIF®, CPFA®
Founder and CEO of Justabout Wealth Management
I have 27 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, and I am founder and CEO of Justabout Wealth Management. I was previously employed at two other local firms, where I served as Vice President and Wealth Manager. I was a shareholder at one of those firms, DB Root & Company, where I spent over 20 years. It was always my dream to own my own financial advisory company, and that dream became a reality in 2020!
I focus on serving a diverse group of high net-worth clients, as well as growing new client relationships. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant (CFP®), counseling clients in the areas of financial planning and investment management. I am a licensed insurance agent, helping clients with life, disability and long-term care insurance.
I also advise corporate clients regarding their company-sponsored retirement plans, including the management of 401(k)s, SEP plans, SIMPLE Plans, and defined benefit pension plans, with my Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®) designations.
I really enjoy being active in the community to help others and to network for my business. I have been a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park for over 20 years, and I serve on the church’s Endowment Committee. I am currently on the Board of Directors for the River City Brass Band and on the Gala and Finance committees. I am also a Board member of Leadership Washington County and serve on the Alumni and Finance committees. I have been a Rotarian for 9 years and am currently the Chair of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation Board of Directors. The Foundation is responsible for investing and funding service projects for the club. I previously completed two years as Treasurer for the Peters Township High School Boys Tennis Backers and two years as President of the PT Diamond Backers for the baseball team. On the networking side, I am a member of Valley Brook Country Club and the Peters Township, Washington County, South West Regional, and Southpointe Chambers of Commerce.
In 2010, I was named to Pittsburgh Magazine’s “40 Under 40″ in recognition of my positive impact on the region’s development and success in my profession.* In 2023 and 2024, I was named one of AdvisorHub’s Top 100 Solo Advisors to Watch, ranked #22 nationally in 2023 and #26 in 2024.** I have been featured on KDKA-TV news, WPXI-TV news, and PCNC’s Night Talk and have also been quoted or featured in articles in Investment News, USA Today, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, GEICO Direct magazine, and IN Peters Township and IN Canon Mac magazines.
I graduated cum laude with a B.A. degree from Dickinson College and hold a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs and a Western European Studies certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.
I have been married to Michelle for 25 years, and we the proud parents of three – Christian, Colin, and Anna. I love playing golf and softball, and I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching my kids and many others in hundreds of games of baseball, softball, flag football, and basketball over the years. I am also a certified SPIN® instructor and have taught many classes over the years. I also thoroughly enjoy riding the Peloton on a regular basis and participating in Power Zone challenges!
